The ginkgo trees on our street turn all at once, usually in the last week of November, and for a few days the pavement is brighter than the sky. We wanted it on paper before it happens this year. Yellow first, then orange for the deeper leaves, then midnight for the trunks, the road and the long shadows. A3, edition of forty. It will be on the table for the first time at Kuramae on 15 November.

The tree two doors down is heavy again, so Persimmons is finally printed. Orange first, then teal over the leaves; where the two cross you get the dark green of the shadows without a third ink. Fifty copies, A4, on the natural white stock. We pulled about seventy to get fifty we were happy with. The seconds go in the box at the year-end market.

The blue drum started leaving a faint stripe down every sheet in June. It turned out to be a worn screen, and the only replacement we could find came from a print shop closing down in Saitama. It's fitted and printing cleanly again, which means the summer pause is over.
